2.5% of all BC Adventure Company revenues are donated to the Take A Hike Foundation, that delivers a proven mental health and well-being program, in partnership with BC High Schools, that has a lasting impact in the lives of vulnerable youth, evidenced by a 97% High School graduation rate of program participants vs the BC average of less than 86%.
With a strong history of, and belief in “giving-back”, the ownership team have made BCAdventureCompany.CA a socially purposed enterprise. As a socially purposed enterprise BCAdventureCompany.CA believes in education about, and the preservation of our ecosystems. In doing so BCAdventureCompany.CA also supports, advocates, provides in-kind services to, plus donates a total of 2.5% of its revenues to the Take a Hike Foundation
Take a Hike Foundation is a non-profit organization that uses the outdoors and adventure to engage vulnerable youth in school, community and mental health supports. Take a Hike Foundation delivers a proven mental health and well-being program, in partnership with BC High Schools, that has a lasting impact in the lives of vulnerable youth. Take A Hike enables vulnerable youth to build the skills and resiliency they need to graduate high school, build healthy relationships, and achieve success – however they define it. Founded almost 20 years ago with just one location in Vancouver, Take A Hike now operate six programs across five communities: Vancouver, Burnaby, Delta, the West Kootenays, and Nanaimo.
